Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Mediaread service. By uploading a file to the service, you agree to these terms.

The service

Mediaread is a diagnostic tool that inspects audio and video files using ffprobe and returns a report of their technical properties. The service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. The diagnostic report is based on the file's metadata and stream data — it is not a guarantee of correctness or completeness.

Your responsibility

You may only upload files that you have the lawful right to inspect. You agree not to upload files that contain malicious content, violate any applicable law, or infringe the rights of any third party. You are solely responsible for the files you upload.

No warranty

Mediaread is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

In no event shall Mediaread be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the service, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory.

Billing and payments

Mediaread is currently free to use. There are no charges, no subscriptions, and no payment method required to inspect files.

Free tier (current): Files up to 500 MB, unlimited inspections, full diagnostic report. No account or registration required.

Future paid plans: When paid plans are introduced, subscribers will be billed through a third-party payment processor. The available plans, prices, and features will be announced on the Pricing page before any charges are applied. No payment is taken today — no payment processor is connected to this service.

Billing period and subscription: Any future paid plan will be billed monthly or annually, as selected at checkout. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account.

Failed payments: If a subscription payment fails, we will retry the charge up to three times over the following week. If all retries fail, access to paid features will be suspended until the payment is successfully processed.

Refund policy: Because Mediaread is a diagnostic service that executes immediately on submission, refunds for usage on the free tier are not applicable. For paid plans, refunds for unused subscription time will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Specific refund terms will be published when paid plans are launched.

No legal entity

No legal entity has been registered yet for this service. These terms are provided as a statement of the intended relationship between the service and its users. A formal legal entity and jurisdictional terms will be added when they are in place.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the service evolves. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
