Privacy

Mediaread lets you upload an audio or video file to inspect its streams and technical properties. This page describes how we handle your data.

What we process

You upload a file through the browser. The file is transmitted to a processing backend where ffprobe reads its container metadata, stream information, codec identifiers, and a small number of frames for thumbnail extraction. The backend returns a diagnostic report and discards the file.

Retention and deletion

Your file is processed once and is never stored, listed, or shown to anyone else. Thumbnails are extracted from the file, displayed inline in the browser during your session, and discarded when the page is closed. No copy of your file or its content is retained after processing completes.

What we do not collect

Data sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer your files or any data derived from them to third parties. The processing backend runs on infrastructure provided by the hosting platform and is subject to their data-processing terms.
